Since October 7th, 2023, members of our community, along with Bridges for Peace and members of the Yazidi community have stood silently, on a major Winnipeg roadway holding posters with photographs of the remaining 134 hostages being held in Gaza, Israeli and Canadian flags and a giant sign reading, "WE WON'T STOP UNTIL THEY'RE ALL BACK ".
These silent weekly rallies have been very effective in communicating the plight of the hostages to the hundreds of drivers that pass by. Many people honk and wave in support. A survivor of the Nova Festival saw a social media posting of a video of the rally with someone holding a poster of Hirsh Goldberg Polin's and it was sent to his mother, Rachel Goldberg Polin who said she was so inspired and so touched to see people in Winnipeg braving the cold for the hostages.
These rallies make a difference !
