There is an upcoming Shalom Residences Community Information open house on at the Asper campus in the Kroft boardroom at 7pm. The focus will be to discuss supported independent living and residential care options for adults with intellectual disabilities diagnosed before the age of eighteen. Shalom currently supports twenty-nine adults in six group homes, nine individuals in supported independent living apartments and three adults with community outreach. Topics to be covered will include a review of Shalom Residence's forty-five year history of providing residential services with a Jewish focus, including a plan for establishing another south Winnipeg group home, eligibility criteria and the provincial funding application process.
