GERRY DAIEN CELEBRATES 50 YEARS AS A CANTOR

Cantor  Gerry Daien’s  first  job offer came from the Herzlia-Adas Yeshurun Synagogue in 1960.  He took the offer and became the chazzan there.  Now, in 2010, this past High Holy Days he celebrated his 50th Anniversary as  a cantor.

When asked how he it is that he became a chazzan, Cantor Daien explains, “G-d gave me the ability to work with my hands as well as the ability to sing and daven.”

PROUD TO BE CANADIAN AND A STRONG FRIEND OF ISRAEL

Thanks to our friends at the Canada-Israel Committee, last week I was given the opportunity to visit Israel for the first time.  This journey left a profound impact on me that I will carry for the rest of my life, both on a personal and spiritual level.  It was truly a very moving experience and I recommend to all those who have not yet done so, to take the time to visit this beautiful country.
