I have been diagnosed with a nonalcohol-related, rare liver disease called nodular regenerative hyperplasia (NRH), a condition that has drastically and rapidly affected my health. I am now fighting hard for my life. Just a few months ago, I was extremely active, working full-time, regularly swimming and distance-walking, as well as traveling and spending time with family and friends. Now, I can barely walk without assistance. I am weak, thin and can hardly eat. The decline has been rapid and profound.
There’s no cure for this disease, and the only way to save my life is through a liver transplant. Unfortunately, the wait for a liver from a deceased donor is long, and we’re running out of time. This is why we’re urgently searching for a living donor who can help give me a chance to continue his life.
