The Muslims of Calgary organization, who advertises Friday prayers at the University of Calgary, has posted false information which has lead to comments such as "Jew pigs – avenge them". They posted a picture of dead babies claiming it was Israel who killed them. The picture is from a chemical attack in Syria (http://www.demotix.com/photo/2482767/victims-ghouta-chemical-attack-syria). The group also rents University of Calgary space to host their speakers.
May I remind you that the current president of the Palestinian club on campus, Ala'a Hamdan has been quoted saying 'I will soak a koffiyah in your blood…I will become the mother of a martyr'. She has also been quoted saying 'Most CEOs are Zionists'. This club organized 5 protests in Calgary this month – 2 have been violent (yesterday, one of their protestors was arrested). In addition, Saima Jamal, another one of the protest organizers, is a UofC staff member. She apologized to the media about the violence, and then laughed online about the violence against Jews and Christians (see attached picture). The campus club "SPHR", which was awarded "Advocacy Club of the Year 2013", also brought speakers last year who have said "The IDF systematically kills Arabs" and "Jews put feces in the drinking water of Palestinians". One of their club members has told us "It's too bad the nazis didn't finish off your family".
We strongly feel that this incitement to hate has led to the violent attack on Jews and Christian Israel supporters at city hall on July 18, 2014.
Jewish university students and Israel supporters are afraid to come back to campus this September. Please advise. Our emails have been thus far ignored.
